PhD Program :

We currently offer a PhD program in particle physics and we are starting an astroparticle PhD program. More information about the particle physics program can be found here, unfortunately only in Norwegian at the moment. Courses are generally in Norwegian but are thought in English whenever we have English-speaking students. We will add more information about both programs as soon as available. For the time being, any interested students should contact the project leader directly.

Master Program :

It is also possible to follow a Master program in our group. For general information from the Department see here. Some typical particle physics subjects from previous years can be found here. Training Program / Stage :

We do offer a training program for 4-6 months for students during spring each year. This includes project work and courses if needed. To apply to this program please send CV and letter of motivation to Heidi.Sandaker[]ift.uib.no, as well as a short project proposal (1/2 page). All applications need to be received before 1st of November for the following year. Eligible applicants are typically in their last year of university physics studies.

Visiting scientists :

We would like to welcome visiting scientists to Bergen both to work and for physics discussions, seminars and workshops. At the moment the following workshops are coming up:

1. -Anti-matter workshop (scheduled for 22.-23. February 2011)
   

2. -Start-of-project Symposium (scheduled for 9. March 2011)
   

3. -Medical detector workshop (scheduled for spring 2011)
