Under Ice Turbulence Measurements

Measurements are recorded at high resolution and supply 3D current data from an ADV, as well as temperature and salinity variations

Large salt release was measured using the Turbulence cluster instruments underneath warm, melting sea ice in Van Mijenfjorden during June 2005 Further details can be found in an article:  Widell, K., Fer, I., Haugan P.M. (2006): Salt release from warming sea ice. Geophys. Res. Lett. (photo by Karolina Widell, Geophysical Institute, University of Bergen)
