The curriculum is: Chp. 2: all Chp. 3: all, except for Exmpl. 2-3 and proof of Thm. 28.2 in Sec. 28 Chp. 4: - Sects. 30-34, except for Exmpl. 2 in Sec. 32. - Sec. 36: only definition top of page 225 and Thm. 36.2 without proof. Chp. 9: all, except for 54.6, 55.7, 55.8 and Sect. 56. For the reading and understanding of this we'll need some concepts and definitions from Chp. 1, which should partially be repetition from previous courses. We'll use Chp. 1 as a reference. Exam: On November 23rd. Information of oral exam. Here is a checklist for your final exam. Teaching schedule: There will be lectures 4h a week for about 11 weeks and weekly exercise sessions (of about 1-2h) where you will do exercises at the blackboard while I'm watching. Time and venue: Tuesdays 16.15-18 (room 534), Thursdays 14.15-16 (room 534) and Fridays 12.15-14 (room 508) (5th floor at the Math. Dept.). First time: Tuesday August 23rd, 16.15 (overview lecture). First "serious" lecture will be Thursday August 25th, 1.15-16. Teaching plan: It's important that you prepare the lectures. I expect you to have read the sections before the lectures.
