My main area of research is computer games. I have published articles on game sound, the user interface in games, the player role, games research methods, the Norwegian game industry, game narrative, and social play.

Currently, I am associate professor at the Department of Information Science and Media Studies. I am one of three game research bloggers at Forskning.no, and a guest blogger at Spillpikene.no. I am also member of the board of Joingame, the Norwegian network for game development and research.

I have also done consulting work on the state of the Norwegian games industry. See link for the 2012 report that I wrote together with Jørgen Tharaldsen for The Norwegian Film and TV Producers Association.
