Doctoral training
At the Department of Biomedicine, PhD training takes place within individual research groups, carried out in areas of research within the academic focal points of the Department.
Students that take their training here will be coupled up to research activity in a milieu that is at the forefront of research in the respective areas covered by the Department.
PhD-training requires that an individual has medical or dental qualification, or has a master degree in pure/natural science, or can document equivalent education.
Completion of the period of training qualifies an individual to perform research, participate in teaching activity or to embark in a form of employment where high-level scientific insight is required.
The training consists of:
1. A period of study encompassing 30 study points where research courses as well as 300-level courses can be incorporated.
2. An individual piece of research documented in the form of a thesis of high scientific and international standing, indicating a high standard of competency. The content of the thesis is based on several publications that have, or will appear in international scientific journals.
