Christianisation process, bishop’s palaces, Trondheim’s history, urbanisation.

Major research projects:
1984-1990: Analyse of stratigraphy and finds from the site Folkebibliotekstomten in  Trondheim (late 10^th - middle of 14^th century).

1991-2003: Director of the Excavations in the Archbishop’s Palace’ in Trondheim (late 10^th – 18^th century).

2003-2006: post doc., CMS: Christianization of Norway (c.560 - 1150/1200)

2006- present: Christianization of Norway, continuation of post.doc.  Leader of Christianization project at CMS
