Pre-requirements
Introduction to linguistics course. Preferably 60 ECTS of language studies, linguistics, humanistic informatics , information science, and/or cognitive science.
Learning Outcomes
Students will learn about quantitative methods, which are relevant for language related research and applications. The course will enable the student to understand the use of statistics in scientific literature. The student will be able to set up hypothesis, plan and carry out the data collection, choose an appropriate test, and evaluate the result. The course will introduce the use of computer programs for calculating various statistical measures.

Aim and Content
The course includes hypothesis formulation, experiment planning, data collection, use of computer programs for quantitative analysis, parametric and non-parametric tests and evaluation of results: significance and relevance.
