- apply basic knowledge about how to generate and interpret results from a relevant statistical program.

Aim and Content
The aim of the course is to introduce the main techniques of quantitative analysis employed by geographers, and to enable the students to use computer software in the analysis of quantitative data. The course is relevant both to students of physical geography and of human geography.

Teaching Methods
Each lecture will be followed by a datalab in which the students will work with exercises related to the lecture. These exercises are mandatory and need to be approved before the students can take their exam.
Lectures, data labs with mandatory exercises
Lecture: 2 hours; data lab: 3 hours
5 weeks in January and February
10 hours of lectures, 15 hours in datalab
Compulsory Requirements
Four-five mandatory assignments. These exercises need to be approved before the students can take their exam.
