- Understand the principles of sample preparation in analytic geochemistry
- Understand principles of the main instrumental techniques in geochemistry.
- Understand data interpretation.

Aim and Content
Students will gain an overview of sample preparation and analytical techniques (trace element, major element and isotope) used in geochemistry. Participants in the course will also gain practical experience in the analytical facilities available at the Department of Earth science

On completion of the course GEOV347 the student should
- Understand the principles of sample preparation in analytic geochemistry
- Understand principles of the main instrumental techniques in geochemistry.
- Understand data interpretation.

Practical exercises
Assessment methods
The students must hand in laboratory protocols that will be then discussed by students and teacher.
