Course content

Aim: Update in immunology.

Content: Seminars by guest scientists and progress reports by PhD fellows and postdocs. Participation is mandatory for PhD fellows and postdocs associated with Bergen Research School in Inflammation (BRSI). Progress report at least once per year.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Upon completing the course, the participants should

- be updated in immunology

- be familiar with ongoing projects of PhD fellows and senior researchers associated with BRSI

- be updated on methods used in immunology including their strengths and weaknesses

Skills

Upon completing the course, the participants should

- have improved their ability to present scientific data

- be able to contribute to discussing the forefront of research

- be able to challenge established knowledge and practical approaches in immunology and adjacent fields

Competence

Upon completing the course, the participants should

- be able to identify relevant ethical issues and conduct research with academic integrity

- be able to come up with new scientific questions including interdisciplinary approaches

- be able to decide how to approach a scientific problem
