Aim and Content
The quantum-mechanical theory for angular momentum is presented and applied to derive selection rules for dipolar transitions between electronic, rotational and vibrational states, respectively. Rotational fine structure in ir spectra, and vibrational fine structure in electronic spectra are discussed.

Grading Scale
The grading scale used is A to F. Grade A is the highest passing grade in the grading scale, grade F is a fail.
