Pre-requirements

Students must have a good knowledge of both the Norwegian language and the Old Norse language.

Learning Outcomes

This is a further introduction to Old Norse literature and culture based on both translated and original texts. The course is intended for students already studying Old Norse or Scandinavian languages and literature abroad.

The aim of the course is to give the student a wider knowledge of Old Norse literature, religion and names.

Compulsory Requirements

None

Assessment methods

Seven days home examination and an oral examination.

Students can write in Norwegian, Danish or Swedish, or another language according to agreement with the teacher.
