Pre-requirements
As the course is taught in Norwegian, students must have a good knowledge of the Norwegian language. Some knowledge of the Old Norse language is also an advantage.
Learning Outcomes
This is an introduction to Old Norse myth and legend. The course is intended for students already studying Old Norse or Scandinavian languages and literature abroad. The object is to give students a basic knowledge of Old Norse mythology and to some degree cult, taking the major Old Norse texts that contain information about this as a point of departure.
