Minimum 60 ECTS in physics + PHYS205, PHYS206, PHYS241 or equivalent course.
Learning Outcomes
The course includes phenomenology of heavy ion collisions, relativistic kinetic theory, statistical physics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, basic dynamical and collective models of reactions and measurable quantities and their scale properties. Examples of the search for quark-gluon plasma will be taken from experiments in heavy ion physics and astrophysics.

Aim and Content
The course aims to present the theoretical basis of experiments in heavy ion physics carried out at CERN and other laboratories. The course is primarily intended for graduate students in nuclear and particle physics, but is also of interest for astrophysicists.
