After taking the course, students should have
- an overview over heavy ion physics at medium and high energies
- a broad basis for further experimental and theoretical studies

Aim and Content

The course includes models for heavy ion collisions, kinematics, correlations, the equation of states for nuclear matter, production of entropy in nuclear collisions, sub-threshold production of particles, phase transitions, quark-gluon plasma and experimental results.

Assessment methods

Oral exam.

Grading Scale

The grading scale used is A to F. Grade A is the highest passing grade in the grading scale, grade F is a fail.
