Due to the limited number of spaces available and special entry requirements, admission to the course is limited.

 

Learning Outcomes

Students will write a term paper in groups of maximum 3 persons. The topic of the paper will have a developmental psychology perspective, and will be chosen in collaboration with the supervisor. Students will write a theoretical or review paper, unless otherwise stated. The main aim of the term paper is to enhance the writing skills of students and their understanding of the central processes in developmental psychology. The content of the paper will reflect the core areas of the different theoretical lectures in developmental psychology. An important component of the term paper is a course, which will address the writing and referencing style of the APA format.

Aim and Content

Term paper - on a topic in developmental psychology 

Themes in the APA course include:

  • Main features of a scientific report in the field of psychology;
  • References in accordance with the APA format;
  • Special genre of scientific texts;
  • Academic writing style;
  • Publishing culture in various fields of psychology;
  • Guidelines of co-authorship;
  • Guidelines for the publication of scientific findings;
  • Plagiarism and fraud in academic writing.

Teaching Methods

A series of lectures will be arranged for the APA course.

 

Compulsory Requirements

Participation in an oral presentation arranged for the term paper.

 

Assessment methods

A term paper (max 6000 words), either theoretical or literature review, of a current topic in developmental psychology. The term paper will be written according to APA style and will be electronically submitted for evaluation.

 

Grading Scale

The grading scale used is A to F. Grade A is the highest passing grade in the grading scale, grade F is a fail.

 

Reading List

Material for the term paper will be the students' own responsibility.

Teaching material for the APA course will be made known to the students before the start of each semester.
