Course in laboratory animal science
Everybody who are to be involved in experiments with laboratory animals, project managers, researchers, PhD's, masterstudents, research technicians and other personell, must have gone through approved training to be able to participate in the research project.
The laboratory animal facility at UoB runs courses in Laboratory animal science, approved by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority ("Mattilsynet").
You need the complete course (5 days of theory, 3 days practical training and 2 days of self stydy, incl. exam), to be approved to be project manager, or work in a project involving animals. The 2 days' Mastercourse (part 1 of the course) only approves you to be working under supervision, and for a short time period.
