International Applicants Residing Abroad
International applicants for Master's degree programmes residing outside Norway must apply by completing our online application form.
Applicants can apply for admission either as self-financing student or student financed through the Quota Scheme.
Application period: 1 October to 1 December 2012.
Deadlines:
1 December: Applicants submit the online application form.
15 December: Applicants submit the application receipt together with the application cover sheet together and the required documentation to Student Services by post.
Academic requirements
Applicants must normally have obtained an undergraduate degree or Bachelor's degree of 4 years' duration, or have an equivalent educational background. For information regarding equivalency, see country list.
The degree must include courses equalling at least 1.5 years of full-time studies in a subject relevant to that of the programme applied for.
Admission is extremely competative, applicants should have excellent academic records. Minimum 2 nd Class, Upper Division/B or the equivalent is normally required in order to be considered for admission.

Applicants financing their own studies
Self-financing applicants must be able to document sufficient financing of living expenses for their study period in Norway.

Applicants for the Quota Scheme
The Quota Scheme is a funding scheme offered by the Norwegian Government to students from certain developing countries, countries in the Westen Balkans, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

English Language Requirements
Non-native English speakers must document their English language proficiency in order to be considered for admission to Master's degree programmes at the University of Bergen.
