Funding Opportunities for students

The University of Bergen

Incoming  students

The University of Bergen itself does not offer any scholarships for international students interested in studying at the university. Degree seeking students can apply for admission either as a self-financing student or a student financed through the Quota Scheme.

International students can apply as exchange students if they are nominated by their home universities for a period of study abroad (1 or 2 semesters). For exchange students from Europe there are possibilities through the Erasmus and Nordplus programmes.

Outgoing students

Norwegian students may apply for funding from The Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund

The support may include exchange abroad provided it is a part of a degree at the Norwegian home institution. Norwegian students can receive scholarship from the Erasmus and Nordplus programs .

In addition there are some possibilities for funding for incoming and outgoing students through various organisations, associations, foundations etc

International Scholarship Section at the Research Council of Norway provides an overview of scholarships and programmes in the Research Council of Norway. It is possible for students to apply for some of them

  • EEA Grants - Norway
  • Fulbright grants
