Questions about admission
We thank you for your interest in the University of Bergen, and we are happy to reply to the questions you cannot find an answer to at our web pages. So before you contact us, please be sure to review the rest of our website. You may find answers to your questions readily available.
Some things to consider before you get in touch:
- UiB offers around 40 master’s programmes taught in English, for both quota and self-financing master’s students. Application deadline is 1 December. On these pages you will also find the online application form between the beginning of October and 1 December.
- All Bachelor programmes are taught in Norwegian, and a good proficiency in Norwegian is therefore required.
- All exchange students must be nominated by their home university when applying.

Verification of degree
Employees and others that require confirmation of a degree or a transcript of records from UiB, can send an e-mail to: studentrecords@uib.no
Please include the following information in the request:
- the student’s complete name, including any former names, and date of birth
- degree Awarded
- year degree was awarded
- the student's signature authorizing release of the information
- a scanned copy of the document (if available)
