Introductory Programme Autumn 2013
Participating in the Introductory Programme for new international students is the best way to find out all you need to know about being a student in Bergen and how to make the most of your stay in Norway. It is held from Thursday 8 August to Tuesday 13 August and we recommend all new international students to participate!

Semester Startup Brochure
The information brochure Semester Startup provides new international students with neccessary and practical information about semester registration, obtaining a user account, student ID card, residence permit and much more.

Mentor Week
The Mentor Week is organised at the start of the autumn semester for all new students. Current students at your faculty volunteer to be mentors for a group of new students, and guide you around Bergen and the campus area. The programme consists of a number of social and cultural activities.

Compulsory and Practical Formalities
We will guide you through compulsory and practical formalities that can only be completed after arriving in Norway.

Academic Counselling
Each faculty at the University has their own student advisors. The student advisors will give you help and guidance in matters concerning your studies.

Examination
The University of Bergen uses different forms of examination such as school examinations, assigned exam papers, take-home examinations and oral examinations. The type of examination may vary according to the subject.
