Tandem Language Learning

Beginning in the fall semester of 2013, the University of Bergen will offer language learning based on a language exchange programme called Tandem. This will be available for all international students studying at UiB, Norwegian students who plan an exchange semester abroad, foreign language students, or simply UiB students who want to improve their language skills.

The Tandem language learning is simply based on language exchange through communication and interaction between two students speaking different languages. The Tandem partners will themselves decide where they will meet and how they will exercise their languages. Go for a walk and discuss different topics, discuss a book you’ve read, tell stories from your home country, or just have a cup of coffee! However, we highly recommend that you meet in a public space during the first session.

To sign up, fill in our registration form  before September 15th!

This programme is coordinated by the Division of Student Affairs at UiB , and after the registration deadline we will go through the registration forms and seek Tandem partners that match in their preferred languages. If we find a partner, we will contact you by email. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that all applicants will be matched with a Tandem partner – this depends on the number of applicants.
