Introducing Department of Estate and Facilities Management


Department of Estate and Facilities Management shall, through planning and daily management, ensuring that the University of Bergen and affiliated businesses' need for land, buildings, technical infrastructure and operation of this are met.

The department's responsibilities


Department of Estate and Facilities Management (EIA) is responsible for the management, operation, maintenance and development of all University buildings, technical facilities and outdoor areas.

The department also performs a wide range of services to UiB students, staff and the public - eg. postal and transport services, management of access cards for students and staff, rental of premises, management and letting of flats / leiliegheter for visiting researchers, provision of welfare cabins, parking mm.

 

Facts about the department (EIA)


* EIA is part of the central administration at the University of Bergen.

*  And is led  by the Department Director and is organized in the Office for reconstruction and maintenance (KOV), Office of Operations (KD), a unit of Facilities management and Administrative staff that includes Finance section (ØKS) with responsibility for personnel and finance field.

*  The department has approx. 100 employees in full and part time positions           (approximately 98 FTEs)
    
*  The department has competent staff in a variety of subject areas and these have their work spread around the campus

*  The department's administration is located in Parkveien 9, while the individual operating units are located within their areas.

* Real Estate Division manages the University of Bergen's buildings, including some leased area.

     *       UiB owns about 95 buildings - totaling approx. 304 000 m2

     *       UiB hire area of approx. 72 000 m2
