The course is available to students at the Master's programme in anthropology of development

Mål og innhald

The course is divided in two. One half is dedicated to the students´ working on their own project proposals. Every student is expected to present their research ideas one or several times in the group as a basis for general discussions about various dimensions of the proposal. The second part is a literature based discussion of various issues related to the fieldwork, the general research process and the production of an academic text.

Seminars and individual supervision

4-6 hours each week

6-8 weeks

26 hours in total (Depending on students requirements, special seminars may be given)

Mandatory participation in class

Vurderingsformer

Completion of a project proposal of about 3,000 words +/-10%.The project proposal is accepted following the student´s successful oral examination carried out by a committee consisting of the student´s own supervisor and one additional academic staff member. (pass/fail)
