5th International workshop on modeling the ocean

Abstract IWMO 2013

Abstracts for the IWMO2013 should be submitted before 1. February 2013.

Main content

The IWMO2013 solicits abstracts for presentations at the workshop on all aspects of ocean and coupled air-wave-sea, ice, current-sediment, and climate modelling: processes, analysis and prediction. The earth system is inter-connected on a broad range of temporal and spatial scales, and we welcome coastal, regional, basin-scale and global studies, as well as interdisciplinary topics. As in the past workshops, we particularly encourage participations from young scientists - graduate students and postdocs, and will again host the Outstanding Young Scientist Awards (OYSA) competition. Papers presented at the workshop will be eligible for submissions to the IWMO-5 Special Issue to be published by Ocean Dynamics.

In addition, the local organizer also welcome contributions that reflect activities that the 'local' ocean modelling community are involved in: the Arctic, air-sea interactions, ocean-ice interactions, climate, ecosystem modelling, operational oceanography, numerical techniques for fluid flow, theoretical aspects of the Navier-Stokes equations.

Abstract for the IWMO2013 should be submitted before 1. February 2013. We encourage early submissions for oral presentations which will be allocated on 'first-submit-first-assigned' basis, If there are more submissions than there is time for in the programme,  late submissions may be moved to the poster session. This means that participants that want an oral presentation should submit the abstract as soon as possible. The abstracts should be sent to iwmodsp@gmail.com, see link to Abstract submission instructions.

After the abstract submission deadline, the presentations will be grouped into sessions as at the earlier IWMO meetings by the scientific committee.
