What makes the MPA at UiB special is the setting in a cross-disciplinary field, where the focus of Public Administration is not lost.

Why did you choose Master’s Programme in Public Administration , UiB?
The MPA at UiB offered a great education in a very international setting. The small group of students enabled a very good working climate and good relationship with the supervisor.

What did you write your thesis about?
Decentralizing environmental policy implementation - The case of the Zambian NPE.

Was your topic relevant for the job you have now?
Not the topic itself but the context it is set in as well as the theory I learned while at UiB.

Why should new prospective students choose our master’s programme?
What makes the MPA at UiB special is the setting in a cross-disciplinary field, where the focus of Public Administration is not lost. The small groups enable students to have a good relationship and communication with their professors, something that is very rare in today´s Master´s programs.

What was your first job after graduation? How did you transition from studies to work?
I was accepted to a Master at the University of Liverpool and now into a PhD Program at the University of Vienna. I also work full time as a student councilor at the University. So the transition was not that difficult.

Do you have any tips for new students who are thinking about job opportunities after graduation?
With the MPA the important thing is to take advantage to learn as much as you can of all the cross disciplinary fields. In today´s university setting it is a rare chance to not be limited to one type of job after graduation but to be able to use what you learn in you studies and apply it to different areas, not only in the public, but also the private sector.
