According to PhD student Sally El Tayeb, the burden due to serious injury and trauma can represent up to 90% of the health burden in low- and middle-income countries. However, there is often little documentation of the problem El Tayeb defends her thesis entitled, “Injuries in Khartoum State, Sudan. Magnitude, consequences and healthcare utilization: a community-based survey,” Friday 13 June. She will begin by addressing the topic, “A Critical Reflection of Approaches to Address the Burden of Injuries in Khartoum State, Sudan” in her trial lecture, after which she will proceed to her defence.

All are welcome to attend.
