Medical Statistics with Stata

Postgraduate course

Course description

Objectives and Content

Aim:

The course will give an introduction to the statistics program STATA with examples of uses in medical research

Content:

- Data managing/manipulation, documentation

- Simple descriptive statistics

- Simple analysis of continuous variables (t-test, correlation, linear regression)

- Simple analysis of categorical variables with contingency tables (Chi-square ¿ and Fisher¿s exact test)

- Survival analysis (Kaplan-Meier curves, log-rank test)

- Graphics with STATA

- Menus, log-files and do-files in STATA

- Usage of the help function in STATA and online resources
