Nordic Linguistics: Language History and Spoken Language

Learning Outcomes

The course provides an overview of the history and spoken varieties of the Scandinavian languages, with a focus on Norwegian. The course is intended for foreign students who are already studying Scandinavian languages and/or literature.

The aim of the course is to provide an insight into the history of the Scandinavian languages, especially Norwegian, as well as phonology and dialectology.

Required Previous Knowledge

Students must have a good knowledge of the Norwegian language.
