Course description

Objectives and Content

Goal:

To give the students an understanding of disease mechanisms in general and how diseases can be diagnosed using common pathologic methods.

Content:

The course covers the most important topics in general pathology and is based on knowledge from

master of dentistry. The course focuses on histopathology and has a practical approach through microscopy (virtual of digital scanned sections and traditional microscopy) of tissue sections. The course comprises topics like inflammation, hemodynamic disorders, neoplasia and diseases of the immune system, heart and blood vessels.

  • know the basic morphological features (macroscopic and microscopic) of relevant disease processes
