The 3rd Barcelona-Gothenburg-Bergen Workshop on Experimental Political Science
The BGB-workshop brings together researchers who use experimental methodology to address political phenomena. In April 2017, this was at the University of Bergen. The workshop accomodated 15 presentations over two days, plus a keynote lecture.

26 persons were gathered in Bergen to discuss experimental methodology in political science, the 24thand 25th of April 2017. Several papers were presented, on themes like social identity, legitimacy of referendums and ethnic politics.
Diana Mutz held a keynote lecture, titled "My country first". Mutz is the Samuel A. Stouffer Professor of Political Science and Communication, Director, Institute for the Study of Citizens and Politics, University of Pennsylvania. In her talk, she addressed the relationship between positive feelings toward one's home nation and attitudes toward international trade. She used findings that combines representative surveys and survey-experimental data from the United States and Canada.
The workshop was a successful event that led to fruitful discussions, and more cooperation in the future. Following these two days of workshop there was a PhD-course on survey experiments, gathering 30 PhD-students learning about design and data analysis of survey experiments by Mike Tomz from Stanford University, and Endre Tvinnereim from UniResearch Rokkan Centre (now NORCE).
This was a very good week at DIGSSCORE, with interesting discussions on experimental methodology at every corner of our facilities.
