The Geophysical Institute celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2017. A symposium focusing on climate, energy and earth system science was held last week to celebrate the anniversary, and to mark the start of a new strategic research area for UiB; climate and energy transition. See live streaming from the second day, focusing on climate and energy transition, here.

Read about the half-day seminar on Efficient and Sustainable Electricity Markets, arranged in collaboration with the ENE centre at NHH. Another half-day seminar is coming up in October, this time focusing on biomass for energy. More information and a link to register for this event can be found here.

We have also had three interesting lunch-meetings during September. Read summaries from the presentations by Karina Garnes Reigstad (City of Bergen), Endre Tvinnereim (Uni Research) and Tor Sørevik (MI, UIB).

Read also the interview with Energy Master graduate Jørgen Knutsen!
