Worldwide Universities Network (WUN)
The Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) is a leading global higher education and research network made up of 22 universities, spanning 15 countries on 6 continents working together to drive international research collaboration and address issues of global significance.
WUN is the most active global higher education and research network with 90 active research initiatives, engaging over 2,000 researchers and postgraduate students collaborating on a diverse range of projects. The research is focusing on four global challenge areas:
- Responding to Climate Change
- Public Health (with emphasis on non-communicable diseases)
- Understanding Culture
- Global Higher Education and Research
These initiatives are committed to addressing some of the world’s most urgent challenges and are supported by prolific partners such as the United Nations Foundation, OECD, World Health Organization and International Organization of Migration. The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provides the frame for this collaboration. Within each of these areas is a collection of high-quality collaborative research programmes involving a number of WUN member universities along with other academic institutions, government, international agencies, foundations and industry.
The WUN Research Mobility Programme (RMP) provides opportunities for early-career researchers, including postgraduate and postdoctoral students, to expand their knowledge, gain international experience and broaden their professional networks.
The WUN Research Development Fund (RDF) is an annual competitive fund aimed at bringing together researchers to undertake innovative, high quality, sustainable research that addresses global challenges.
