Honour to Olav Eldholm
Professor emeritus Olav Eldholm, Department of Earth Science, University of Bergen, was Monday January 24, 2011 granted the academic degree Doctor rerum naturalium honoris causa by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel.

The degree was granted in honor of his continuous and exceptionally successful engagement in the development of marine geosciences. Eldholm has been a pioneering scientist of continental margin research in the European Northern Seas and marine polar regions, and created a high impact in the international scientific community and also strengthened marine geosciences in Kiel.
