Questions are involved that impact all of us:

  • Should we?
  • Can we?
  • Do we need to?

Norway may have extensive deep sea mineral resources. How should these been protected? Exploited?

The lectures will be held in the Egget Auditorium in the UiB Student Centre. All are welcome.

Cathles has been actively researching deep sea resources for over 40 years. He believes that ocean resources are critical for the future of humanity.

11:10-11:50 Cindy Van Dover (Duke University, US)

Van Dover is a deep sea biologist and has been involved in nearly 50 ALVIN dives. Van Dover is involved in documenting deep sea biological resources before exploitation activity.
