Friday the 15th November the Grieg Academy - Department of Music invited to an Open Day. More than 100 students from high schools and colleges with music took the opportunity to visit the Grieg Academy, hear about courses, attend lessons and catch up on lots of great music played by the Academy`s students. All participants contributed during the opening, when the hall was transformed into a choir singing Edvard Grieg's "Pinsesalme", conducted by both students and teacher Helge Haukås.

After the information sessions it was possible for the visiting pupils to have a look around the Academy, participate in the string wokshop led by Professor Jan Bjøranger or attend an open lesson in arranging / composing with the jazz students of the Grieg Academy.

The Open Day concluded with a concert where the department's broad range of genres was represented - from classical chamber music to jazz and folk rock.
