What are HSE non-conformities? 

HSE non-conformities are all adverse events and/or matters that have resulted or may result in harm to people, the environment and property.

Please note that issues related to building operations and repairs of material/construction must be reported in Lydia. Major damage to property and structural conditions in buildings, as well as system failures should reported as HSE non-conformities.

What should be reported where? 

The following should to be reported in the system for HSE non-conformities:The following should to be reported in Lydia:
  • Fires and explosions
  • Break-in, theft, robbery and unauthorised access to buildings and areas
  • Damage to property and structural conditions in buildings 
  • Personal injuries
  • Harmful emissions to the environment
  • Incorrect handling of chemicals, gas, biological agents and sources of radiation
  • Third party violence and threats (third party means persons who are not UiB employees)
  • Breaches of the health and safety legislation, guidelines and routines.
  • Lighting, broken electrical outlets and other electrical issues 
  • Heating and ventilation
  • Cleaning and waste
  • Doors and windows
  • Leaking taps and toilets
  • External: graffiti, loose paving stones, holes in asphalt, park, stairs and ramps, etc.
  • Transport and supplies

Who's following up?

HSE non-conformities are sent to your immediate supervisor or their representative, and they are responsible for implementing measures. Your safety delegate and the HSE Section receives a copy of the notification. 

Demand notices in Lydia is followed-up by the opp av Estate and Facilities Management division.
