Here is an overview of some of the resources relevant to the research activities at the Department of Information Science and Media Studies. Among these are the library services, University news in English, and an introduction to the Norwegian media system, written by professor Helge Østbye.

The Social Sciences Library is located in Fosswinckels gate 14. Opening hours are 08.30-19.00 Monday - Friday. The University of Bergen Library has more than 2 million books of which 185 000 are e-books. The library offers access to about 18 600 journals, 16 800 of them are e-journals. The library also holds a comprehensive newspaper collections, historical pictures, as well as manuscripts and diplomas from as far back as the 13th century.

Nordicom - is a Nordic resource centre for media and communication studies. Nordicom compunds and disseminates academic research from the Nordic countries through databases aimed for various audiences in the Nordic region, in Europe and the rest of the world.

På Høyden is the online newspaper catering specifically to University of Bergen employees. The newspaper is updated daily and covers university issues, carries news from the research frontier and publishes debates and op.eds. På Høyden publishes news in English.
