From a researcher’s point of view
- What was most striking to me, starting to work as a German-Norwegian research fellow, was the very friendly and informal atmosphere at the Faculty of Law.

In my opinion, this is largely owing to a good blend of male and female as well as junior and senior members of staff. Hierarchy seems to be very relaxed and leaves room for a good sense of humour.
- I find the cooperation between the scholars, the staff of the remarkable library and the administration to be excellent. I am also impressed by the students’ attitude towards their work and their various social activities.
- Bergen offers a lively music scene and a wide range of cultural opportunities. Most significant, however, is the magnificent surrounding scenery: The sea, islands, fjords and mountains, easily accessible to all of us living here.
