Neurotargeting Research Group

Main content

The main line of activity in the Neurotargeting Research Group is to study molecular mechanisms for regulation of neurotransmitter synthesis and how alterations in these regulatory mechanisms relate to serious neurological and psychiatric disorders, such as bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and substance abuse disorders (adhdprosjektet.b.uib.no).

We have focused on characterizing proteins related to these psychiatric disorders, in particular members of the aromatic amino acid hydroxylase family, PLP-dependent decarboxylase family, and 14-3-3 proteins using both mammalian and bacterially expressed proteins, as well as tissues from human and mice.
