Main content

Helix is the molecular biology student council at the department, and bachelor- and master students comprise the board. All students at the programmes of molecular biology are automatically members of Helix and can vote at the General Meeting held each term.

Helix was founded in 1998 and serves as a link between the students and the Department, by representing the students in the Department Board and the Programme Board. The student council arranges many different events, both academic and social.

Career day

The Molecular Biology Career Day is a yearly event arranged by Helix – Molecular Biology Student Council. The aim of the day is to give students an insight into the possibilities one has after finishing a degree in molecular biology.

Waffle Thursday

Every second Thursday is Waffle Thursday, where Heliks sells waffles in The Loop on 5th floor, Bio-building.

Bachelor-master-meet

Current master students invites bachelor students for an evening of sharing experiences of what it is like being master student at the department mixed with a little pizza and mingling. Already during its first year (2012), the Helix Bachelor-Master meet was a huge success.

Social Events

Throughout the semester, Helix host various social events.
