Doctoral Education (PhD)

The Division of Research Administration has a coordinating role for the doctoral education at UiB

The Division of Research Administration is the administrative-coordinating organ for doctoral eduaction at the University of Bergen. Central tasks are to advice and coordinate routines and guidelines between the faculties. The division organizes and heads a forum that consists of all the faculty's administrative PhD coordinators. The division also has regular tasks related to the distribution of progress report, the PhD candidate survey and the production of diploma for the degree ceremony. Rules and regulations concerning the doctoral education is administrated by the Division of Research Administration, and the division offers advice to the faculties regarding the PhD- and Dr.Philos.-regulations. The division supports the university leadership with analyses and the preparation of documents for meetings in the University Board and in the research forum. The division coordinates the implementation of UiBs Action plan for doctoral education. In addition, the division represents UiB in relevant networks, both nationally and internationally. 

The Division of Research Administration is responsible for the web-pages on doctoral education for external use. The divison also takes care of the internal web-pages on doctoral education, aimed at administrators at faculty and department level.
