The Millennium Development Goals and beyond

The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) have been hailed as the most successful global anti-poverty push in history: the world’s extreme poverty rate is cut in half, more girls are in school, and fewer children are dying.

But what impact has the massive focus on these eight goals, without a concerted strategy, had for sustainable development around the world? The discussions about what should follow the MDGs at the end of 2015 has already started.

UiB Global will critically examine outcomes, identify lessons learned, and discuss the formation of the post-2015 development agenda.
