The University of Bergen secured funding for project development with partners in Eastern and Southern Africa within disciplines ranging from biotechnology and microbiology to dentistry, history, archaeology/heritage studies, and health promotion.

Eleven UiB projects
“The breadth of UiB projects now supported for further development exemplifies how serious UiB is when it comes to engaging with partners outside Europe”, says Tore Sætersdal. He is Acting Director of UiB Global, the unit responsible for coordinating research on “global challenges”, one of three priority areas for research at UiB.

Out of the total 52 projects funded under this call, UiB received funding for eleven projects, the University of Oslo received funding for seven, NTNU and UiT got six each, University of Agder received funding for four and NMBU is backed with funding for two projects.

NORPART supports academic partnerships and student mobility with an emphasis on Master and PhD level between higher education institutions in Norway and selected developing countries.

Deadline for the five-year-projects is September 5, 2016.
