Quantifying the effects of sediment deposition, compaction and pore fluid on rock properties and seismic signatures

PhD Charlotte Faust Andersen

Main content

The main objective of this project is to establish the link between seismic response and reservoir properties more quantitatively. The aim is to link the key geological processes, such as sediment deposition and mechanical/chemical compaction, to measurable seismic parameters for a quantitative analysis that can be applied in subsurface exploration and hydrocarbon production. The study will give ground for the development of strategies for an improved quantitative seismic interpretation of lithology and reservoir properties.
