Knowledge for climate adaptation: a project with and for local communities in Bangladesh

Mathew Stiller-Reeve    13.30 in the HEMIL meeting room

Title: Knowledge for climate adaptation: a project with and for local communities in Bangladesh

Mathew writes: "In this presentation I will explain how we have been working with local communities in northeast Bangladesh around issues of climate and weather adaptation. We start by trying to understand who the main stakeholders are and how they relate to variability in climate and weather. Then we work more closely with a select group on citizen science projects where they question different knowledge systems and build up climate knowledge of their own. I will also explain how this process has influenced the climate science within the project".

Mathew Stiller-Reeve is an interdisciplinary climate researcher from Uni Research Climate in Bergen, and has a PhD in Meteorology from University of Bergen. He now works closely with local communities and stakeholders around questions of climate adaptation in particular in Norway, Bangladesh and the USA.
