Gullhornet (‘the golden horn’) is a font that contains a good selection of the older runes with variants, while Gullskoen (‘the golden shoe’) has a similar choice of the younger runes, including those with many variants. The fonts are available free of charge and can be used on Mac, Linux and Windows. Follow this link to download the fonts.

MUFI (Medieval Unicode Font Initative) contains a lot of useful material for those who wish to print or display all the special characters that are found in Nordic medieval manuscripts.
