Title: Regenerating Bone Defects Using New Biomedical Engineering Approaches

Short abstract: The ability to regenerate/repair skeletal tissue using stem cell therapy offers tremendous therapeutic opportunities in a variety of musculo-skeletal diseases. Since 2006, we have focused on the isolation and characterization of stem cells from human bone marrow and/or human adipose or dental pulp tissues and used these cells and biomaterials for skeletal tissue engineering (including bone and tissues) in vitro and in vivo in combination with 3D biomimetic biomaterials and bioactive growth factors. This talk will introduce different ex vivo and in vivo models (including clinical trials) used in our studies and research.

Bergen Stem Cell Consortium (BSCC) is a collaboration between six local research groups that work in the field of stem cell research and share the goal of generating basic scientific knowledge about the use of stem cells.

Everyone is welcome!
