Solid tumour growth depends on a continuous supply of nutrients supplied by blood vessels generated within the tumour.
This project focuses on the identification of cancer cells with stem cell properties in malignant brain tumours. The heterogeneity of malignant gliomas is a major problem for the development of efficient treatment strategies.
The research lab is translationally orientated, focusing on therapeutic targets associated with tumor-host interactions and cancer stem cells in brain tumors.
