This project focuses on the identification of cancer cells with stem cell properties in malignant brain tumours. The heterogeneity of malignant gliomas is a major problem for the development of efficient treatment strategies.

Using eGFP-expressing immunodeficient mice, tumour cells can be separated from host cells to study tumour cell heterogeneity and tumour host interaction at the cellular and molecular level.
